WHAT IS THE LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL?
The Los Angeles Film Festival, held annually for ten days in June, showcases the best of American and International independent cinema. With an attendance of over 60,000, the festival screens over 200 narrative features, documentaries, shorts, and music videos. Now in its eleventh year, the festival has grown into a world-class event, uniting new filmmakers with critics, scholars, film masters, and the movie-loving public.

WHO CAN ATTEND THE FESTIVAL?
The Festival attracts a huge spectrum of audiences from Los Angeles and around the world. This year, we anticipate over 60,000 attendees.

HOW DO I PURCHASE TICKETS OR PASSES TO A SCREENING?
Passes are now on sale.
Starting May 24, tickets can be reserved and purchased by passholders.
Starting June 1, tickets go on sale to the general public.

Passes and tickets can be purchased on this web site or over the phone at 866.FILMFEST (345-6337). Walk up sales of passes and tickets will begin at Festival venues in June.

WHERE DO SCREENINGS TAKE PLACE?
Festival screenings take place at the Directors Guild of America and the Laemmle Sunset 5, with special screenings at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre.

HOW MANY FILMS PLAY IN THE FESTIVAL? HOW MANY WERE SUBMITTED?
Approximately 70 features, 60 shorts, and 45 music videos make up the main body of the Festival. This year, Festival programmers will consider over 3,000 films.

HOW ARE FILMS SELECTED FOR THE FESTIVAL?
Films submitted to the Festival are reviewed by our programming department, which evaluates each film, looking for the best in new independent American and International cinema.

WHAT ARE SOME FILMS THAT HAVE PLAYED IN PAST FESTIVALS?
Last year's films included the North American Premieres of Fahrenheit 9/11 and Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession. In recent years, the Festival has also presented the World or American debuts of Mayor of the Sunset Strip, Kissing Jessica Stein, George Washington, and I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, among many others.
