Paz Encina was born in Asunción, Paraguay, in 1971. She has directed the award-winning short films La Siesta, Los Encantos del Jazmín, and Supe que Estabas Triste. She has also taught at the Catholic University of Asunción and the Paraguayan Institute of the Arts and Sciences of Communication.
