Teboho Mahlatsi was born in 1974 and graduated from the African Cultural Centre film school. His first short, Portrait of a Young Man Drowning, won a Silver Lion at the Venice International Film Festival in 1999. He is also the co-creator and director of the South African television series Yizo Yizo.
