He is also a man on a mission, combing Latin America’s underworld for the one-eyed man who killed his parents. Now, after years of searching, the only thing that stands between Mandrill and the man he has vowed to kill is the heart of a beautiful, but deadly woman.

Mandrill marks the third film writer-director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza and actor-martial artist Marko Zaror have made together, and the childhood friends share a playful sensibility that can be felt throughout the film. Espinoza directs with a retro-infused style that zips between action, comedy, and even romance, while Zaror handles the action with aplomb, whether shooting down baddies with his enormous gun or delivering an impossible flying somersault kick to their heads.
