Filmed just weeks before a hurricane completely eradicated the sleepy town of Juan Antonio, filmmaker Simone Rapisarda Casanova's portrait of the small forgotten fishing village on the Cuban coast beautifully captures a way of life — rich with laughter and spirit — that has been unexpectedly cut short. Even as the villagers playfully tease the filmmaker, wonderfully ignoring the fourth wall between documentarian and subject, Casanova captures the simple moments of their daily lives with a expert eye, ultimately producing an elegiac time capsule of a place that is now merely a memory for those who lived there.
