An uncompromising look at teen violence and bullying in Korea, this hard-edged animated feature from independent filmmaker Yeun Sang-ho finds two former friends, each deeply disturbed, reuniting after 15 years apart. As they knock back bottles of soju, the men reminiscence about their time in high school and the cruel and senseless treatment they endured at the hands of more privileged students. When a recent transfer student refuses to be a put-upon “pig,” salvation seems at hand, but it comes with a steep price for all involved.

Yeun's animation, all bold lines, harsh character designs and deliberate flatness, is the perfect stylistic match to this dark indictment of systematic cruelty.
